THE BASICS OF CONNECTING GROUPS 

The early Christian community devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, prayer, and meeting in the temple to worship God.  As signs and wonders were done by the apostles and believers shared their possessions, the Lord added new believers to their group every day (Acts 2:42-47).  From this biblical model of Christian group life, we see the components of small group life within our church family.

The Mission of the Connecting Groups Ministry is to: 

• Help Christ Presbyterian Church grow by enhancing the assimilation of new people into its fellowship life 
• Provide people with opportunities for personal exploration with others of the content, meaning and application of the Christian faith 
• Nurture people as they grow in mind and spirit toward the image of Christ 
• Create support systems in which people are accepted, encouraged, and empowered in their lives 
• Knit people into effective teams of "change agents" in the world
